We will. I imagine those left behind are currently scrambling to deal with all the postponements for our previously planned engagements. It is not easy for us to simply disappear without word, and I do not like the thought of disappointing any of my fans, who have loyally supported me since my debut.
Even a free concert when I return will likely not soothe their anger.
Oh, please don't think that way. Your true fans will be happy that you were given this prestigious opportunity and be happy to see you upon your return.
Many have saved up a considerable amount of money to purchase a ticket. That may sway them to feel contempt or resentment that I have not honored my own end of the transaction in a timely manner.
I do wish there were some way to communicate my earnest condolences at the situation, but it will have to wait until we return.

My other theory is they simply wanted live entertainment aboard the ship, but why did they not go through the proper channels to book us?

I've pondered that as well. If they just wanted performers, why bring in all Eight Families when Siren's Melodies is already a well-oiled machine.
And surely, you'll be missed back at Port Manteau if all of you are unavailable for a lengthy amount of time.
